September 14: Quarterly Volunteer Meeting: Picture Pittsfield volunteers meet quarterly to celebrate wins, plan future projects and welcome new volunteers. We will host the meeting in person at King Park, at the upper pavilion. Starting at 6:30 pm, for the first 30 minutes, we meet as a large group, discuss organization-wide topics and look back at what we accomplished the past few months. The last half hour of the meeting will be for the committees to break out and discuss upcoming projects and acclimate new volunteers. For more information about the event, click here.

September 22: Fall Equinox Courthouse Glow: Picture Pittsfield and the Pittsfield Lodge #790 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons are hosting an informal event at the Pike County Courthouse starting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, on the east side of the courthouse. During the autumnal equinox, or first day of fall, the setting sun hits the courthouse just right and the center of it “glows” orange. The Masons will be on hand to talk about this phenomenon, and how the cornerstone was set. Those in attendance will have an opportunity to capture the “glow” with their phones and cameras. The effect only lasts about 10 minutes, from 6:54 to 7:04 p.m., so the public needs to arrive promptly. The event is free. For more information about the event, click here!
